Our best in class Paying for College Seminar Series combines three intensive two hour seminars into one high impact course covering all the specialized information that parents and students need to know in order to determine how to make college more affordable. The curriculum includes an in depth examination of college costs, financial aid opportunities and college payment strategies. Strategies for reducing overall college costs and increasing eligibility for need-based and merit based financial aid are reviewed and discussed in detail. After six hours of expert instruction parents will be very well positioned to save money and time. All seminars are live and interactive, allowing participants to ask questions and receive answers in real time.

Personal College Consulting
For families that want an intensive review of their specific educational goals and financial circumstances, we offer a highly personalized Comprehensive College Cost Reduction Planning service. These one-on-one conferences explore, in depth, your family's college aspirations, financial strengths and special circumstances. We carefully review your tax returns and other relevant financial documentation, as well as the student's academic and extra-curricular profile to be sure your plan is comprehensive, accurate and includes all relevant college cost reduction strategies and federal tax savings. Using all the information you provide, we prepare a highly personalized College Cost Reduction Plan and send it to you for review and comment. Once you have reviewed the plan, we schedule a second conference to discuss, in depth, all findings and recommendations and to answer any questions. Additional conferences are scheduled if needed.

After serving more than twenty years as a Student Affairs professional at Columbia University, including thirteen years as Executive Director of Undergraduate Financial Aid and seven years as Associate Dean of Student Affairs, David Charlow now offers his broad base of experience and expertise to families seeking best value opportunities for their college bound children. A recognized financial aid expert, David served for many years on an important national financial aid committees charged with reviewing and updating the financial aid formulas used by hundreds of colleges to award aid. Outside the financial aid office, David’s varied responsibilities included Admissions, Academic Advising, Pre-Professional Advising, Residential Life, Student Development & Activities, Multicultural Affairs and Student Success Programs. David’s varied experience provides him with a rare combination of pre-admission expertise in the areas of admissions and financial aid and post-admission expertise in the areas of advising and student success. A two-time Chair of the Ivy League Financial Aid Director’s Committee, he also worked extensively on League wide efforts to review and refine the recruitment practices for student athletes. As a former college athlete and Division I Rowing coach, who worked as both an admissions officer and an academic advisor, David has a well-developed understanding of both the opportunities and challenges for student athletes.
